The Beginning


Ken Hawi was born in Beirut, Lebanon and moved to the United States as a young boy. He has lived in the Clearwater area since 1982 and has worked in many fine, local restaurants from sports bars to country clubs learning from some of the finest local chefs over the years.
He now brings almost 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry to his own family-run business located in “Delightful Dunedin”.

A Chefs Venture


He learned from his immigrant parents the value of hard work and a love of good, simple food surrounded by family. His eldest brother was his inspiration both to leave New Jersey and move to Florida and also to get into the restaurant business. He embodied honesty, loyalty and an openness that translated into his cooking reputation. Chef Ken has always been interested in fresh, homemade comfort foods and has made that his focus in his new catering endeavor. The name Ken’s Classics reflects his philosophy and vision for and about his food.

When not slaving away over a hot stove, Ken enjoys spending time with his large family and volunteering in church and community activities. He is an unashamed cat lover and optimistic Bucs fan who also shoots a mean game of pool! Ken and his wife met while working at a Clearwater Beach favorite, The Island House restaurant, 36 years ago and have two children.

He sources organic meats and produce to build a healthy, but colorful and familiar menu
